Internet speed & gaming ping test.

What your numbers mean
Download is how quickly data reaches you. Upload is how quickly you send it. Both are measured in Mbps.
Idle ping measures latency before transfers. Loaded ping shows delay while transfers run; a large increase can explain lag during downloads or uploads. A dash means no valid sample was available. A browser test is a short observation of this route, not a guaranteed ISP line rate.
Advanced: test the PC Universe website response instead
This separate diagnostic includes the website’s server and access processing. It is not used for the internet speed or ping results above.

Why ping rises during downloads →
Good speed is only part of the story.
Latency is the time a request takes to travel out and return. Consistency matters too: a low median can hide occasional slow responses. The main test shows download and upload speed, idle latency, jitter and latency during transfers. The optional website diagnostic below it measures a different route.
A short test to one website cannot establish your ISP’s overall quality or predict a distant game server. Keep the destination and conditions the same when comparing runs. Check the in-game display as a second observation.

- Pause active downloads and updates.
- Run a connection test with your normal setup.
- Repeat after one change, such as Ethernet.
- Compare several runs and note the conditions.
- Check your actual game session before deciding what helped.
Don’t disable security software or install unknown “ping boosters” to chase a lower number.
Connection test questions
Is this my Fortnite, CS2 or VALORANT ping?
No. The main test measures HTTPS network latency to Cloudflare. A game can use different servers, routes and transport protocols. Use the game’s own network display to observe the actual session.
What does variation mean?
Variation is the mean absolute difference between adjacent successful HTTPS requests. Lower variation means those observed requests were more consistent. This small sample is not a complete network diagnosis.
Does a failed request mean packet loss?
No. A request can fail because of a timeout, endpoint, access, browser or network issue. This tool does not send raw UDP or ICMP packets, so its failure rate is not a game packet-loss percentage.
How should I compare Wi-Fi and Ethernet?
Pause downloads, keep the tab visible and run multiple tests in the same place and time window. Change only the connection, then confirm any difference inside the game.
Can it test download speed or bufferbloat?
Yes. The main test transfers data to measure download and upload Mbps, plus ping during transfers. Available load and browser limits affect the result.
How this test works
The main test uses the Cloudflare speedtest engine and browser Resource Timing, with 20 idle latency probes followed by increasing download and upload payloads. Latency uses the median; bandwidth uses the engine’s 90th percentile of eligible transfer samples. Server processing time is subtracted where reported. Loaded latency probes run during transfers. Result logging is disabled. No UDP packet-loss test is performed. The optional site diagnostic retains its separate local history.
